Today, LAGOON belongs to the Custom Yacht division of the
Beneteau Group (the world's largest recreational boatbuilder)
and proposes an exclusive choice of cruising catamarans with
the major architectural contribution coming from Marc Van
Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prévost.
In 1996 LAGOON undertook a renewal of the trawler catamaran
line to improve quality, aesthetics, and performance. Their
success led LAGOON to the introduction of the LAGOON POWER
43, a power catamaran designed by Xavier Fa˙ and Philippe
Subrero. The fruit of more than 4 years of study, it combines
leading-edge technology with practical simplicity for easy
and comfortable cruising.
LAGOON has also proven itself in the realm of custom racing
multihulls (Pierre Ier, Fleury Michon, etc.) whose overall
list of victories remains unequaled by any other boatbuilder
to this day. LAGOON has also been involved in a number of
special projects such as the construction of the trimarans
for the movie Waterworld.
Following the acquisition of Jeanneau by the Beneteau Group
in 1995, LAGOON, previously located in Nantes, has joined
forces with CNB (Construction Navale Bordeaux). With the strength
and talent obtained from its diverse experience, LAGOON has
at its disposal an unequaled technical know-how and mastery
of composite construction, to which the many individual owners,
racers, and charter customers can bear witness.
