DAVIT
SYSTEMS
There are many
thoughts on where the dinghy should be carried.
My thoughts on that are if you don’t make it easy to use
then it will not be used very often.
A dinghy motor will continue to work best if it is used often
(stale gas, foul plugs, dried out diaphragms, etc).
Putting a motor
on and off a dinghy is a tough job and not very safe!
So a system that allows you to keep the motor on is best.
Putting the dinghy on the swim platform is the most
convenient spot possible and a davit system that allows the motor to
stay on is wonderful. So
after putting all kinds of davits on the boats that we have used or
sold I feel that the Sea-Wise and American Tug davit systems are the
best! By simple adjustments, both of these systems allow you to use your
swim platform. We are now the Midwest dealer for these systems.
Sea Wise Davit
System comes in three models: manual (450#) or two hydraulic (650#)
models. The key to this
system is the hinged transom under the motor that keeps the outboard
upright and attached to the dinghy, while the manual crank or
hydraulic arm (flip a switch) raises the outboard and dinghy
simultaneously. They have
been used in the Northwest with great success (This is where they
are made). Our
customers love them!

All
units are custom-ordered for your boat and can be shipped directly
to you or your marina for installation.
One-half of the purchase price is required when the order
is placed and the balance on delivery. The Manitowoc Marina has
done quite a few installations for our customers.

AMERICAN TUG DAVIT SYSTEM
American Tug
Davit System is the custom-made stainless steel lift for the
American Tug. This
system uses electric power to lift the dinghy (500# limit), and the
dingy & motor remain level as it brings it out of the water and
snug to the transom. It
is available as an option priced at $6,160 and will be installed at the
factory. It is shown below on the American Tug 34.
